On September 8, 1900 a category 4 hurricane with 145 mph winds and a 15 foot storm surge hit my island home of Galveston, Texas. the city at that time was situated less than 9 feet above sea level, it is  estimated that between 6,000 to 8,000 citizens and  tourists lost their lives that day. There are those who say that the death toll is extremely understated and could be upwards to 12000. Many of the elaborate Victorian homes that gracefully scattered the Island were lost those that survived remain an important part of Island history and culture. Galveston has coined the title as one of the most haunted cities in America. Islanders (BOI) will tell you it’s a way of life and that “newcomers” (IBC), will get used to the spirit activity after a while. As an intuitive medium I can somewhat equate my living here along the lines of “acting like a kid in a candy store”. Hearing, seeing and sensing spirit is an everyday occurrence for me. Some have unfinished business, others are confused and still can’t realize they have passed, and those who led an undesirable life are afraid they won’t be accepted into the afterlife. I respect each and every spirit that crosses my path. Galveston is and was made of resilient individuals who embrace and  cherish an island home both rich in culture and history as well as diversity and beauty.Facebook Pictures 520.jpgFacebook Pictures 043.
