I took this ominous yet beautiful photo on the evening of September 13,2008 in Santa Fe Texas at the residence of a friend who invited my family to stay and ride out the storm. Hurricane Ike was beginning to rear its ugly head along the Texas coast near Galveston Bay. After enlarging the photograph I noticed the many orbs that I had captured. Wandering spirits that chose to reveal their concern or rather entities that had a vested interest in the welfare of the property and its owners. The rain had not begun at the time however the purple foreboding sky was an omen of what was yet to come.
The photo had me contemplating on the commonality of spirit to remain attached to property and perhaps to personal belongings that have currently or long been left behind. When I first moved to Galveston to the home that my husbands grandfather had built from the ground up I experienced some activities that would normally have others running. I put on my brave psychic intuitive face and trudged through. When first arriving with moving boxes and odds and ends in hand to my new surroundings I knew that I would have a long night ahead of me unpacking and settling in. My husband was at work at the time, I was on my on. With new house key in hand I approached the back door of the home and reached for the screen door upon opening to insert the key I heard an audible yet friendly male voice say,” well come on in”. I knew at that time that I was a welcomed new member of the Montgomery clan. As the days followed I would go into the garage whether it be day or night and the hair would stand up on the back of my neck. Hmmm…who or what is lurking in the garage the feeling was very different from that of my first encounter with spirit whom later I became to recognize to be my husbands grandfather. As a medium you learn to accept the good, bad, and ugly that composes the spirit realm no different from the living right, after all spirits were once the living. Only after many months of experiencing hair-raising feelings of being watched did I learn that my husband had an old Victorian table stored in the garage that was once belonging to the massive furnishings in Galveston’s’ historic and “said to be haunted” Bishop’s palace. How he acquired the table is a long story never the less it solved the mystery at hand. My advice to my audience is to always smudge/sage antiques or any object you acquire from resale shops or garage sales to rid it of any residual energy that may be lingering. Attachments can be pleasant, friendly or extremely negative depending on the character of the previous owner. I may note that residual energy can attach to tangible items from both the living or the dead. Notice your physical symptoms or feelings surrounding the object. Are you happy, sad, depressed, fearful.. . nauseated? The degree of your personal sensitivity or the level at which the object contains an energetic imprint will be indicative on how you may react. As they say, better to be safe than sorry. Blessings.
