Spirit, the word has different meanings depending on the context of reference that is used. Those who have a passion for investigating paranormal activity may refer to ghostly apparitions as spirits. Many Theologians may refer to spirit as the Holy Trinity. Native Americans may refer to animal totems as spirit animals. As a medium I refer to spirit as souls who have passed that communicate either from the afterlife or from the Earthly plane of existence. The term spirit can be rather ambiguous. It’s not a wonder that the word conjures up a multitude of images left only to one’s imagination, perception of course molded by societal customs and norms passed down throughout the generations.

A true medium will see and hear spirit (souls) as they were when they lived their lives, meaning that personalities, likes, dislikes, sense of  humor or lack of do not change. We do not pass from this life and suddenly sprout heavenly wings and become saintly. We pass with our personalities in tact. When an individual who has or hasn’t crossed over decides to get your attention in mischievous ways you can be rest assured that they were mischievous when they were physically present on Earth. Same goes for those who are  meek, kind, compassionate, and loving. Notice the past tense does not compute because we do not die….we are energy and energy can never be destroyed only transformed.

Next time you hear the word ghost or spirit, change your way of thinking and relate to those terms in the context of a human being, a spirit that had the opportunity to experience humanism for a brief time here on our planet. Your ancestors, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, children, friends. They are but a touch, kiss, thought, dream, embrace away ready , eager and wanting to remain an intimate part our lives.
