Ever have those days when you take one step forward and five back? The amount of distractions that people encounter on a daily basis seems to be on the increase. Technological devices consume a majority of our time as does the condition of worldly affairs.Work pressures family responsibilities and keeping up with the latest and greatest is enough to make one want to become an Ostrich. “Yes, Calgon Take Me Away”, before you realize it the day has slipped through your fingers and the feeling is one of not accomplishing a darn thing. Multi-tasking was once considered a way to get things done, quite the contraire, truth is you must stay focused and complete one task at a time before moving on to the next.
As an intuitive I have learned the first step to decrease stress in my life and increase positivity is to never watch the news or programs that contain violence drama or tragedy, well that pretty much covers it all. The fact is that an intuitive absorb energy and emotion from everyone and everything around them to the point that it can be rather debilitating. Secondly, it is crucial that you find time for yourself meaning by yourself. There is a big difference between being alone and being lonely. It is crucial that in today’s society that people learn to quiet their minds. Spend some quality time with yourself, this could mean a walk, reading a book, or just soaking in the tub, the main point here is to remove yourself from stimulus meaning other people, noise, electronic devices and worry. I meditate every opportunity I get, believe it or not even a couple of minutes can be very beneficial. The key is to remove all thought processes from your mind; blank it out. I have done this in the line at the grocery store, waiting at the doctor’s office or any time that you are indisposed in a waiting situation. No, does not include waiting for the light to change Green.
Bottom line, disengagement provides an opportunity to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. Quieting the mind has become a rare commodity in the age in which we live. Do yourself a favor and take the time to experience a peaceful, calm, stress-free existence even if short-lived the benefits are invaluable.
